Day 1: Bali - Ketapang

At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Bali. From there, we'll make our way to the port to board a ferry that will take us to Ketapang, in Surabaya.

Once we reach our destination, we'll transfer to the hotel in Ketapang where we'll stay. After settling in, you'll have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Ijen - Mount Bromo 

Ready for an early start? On the second day, we'll pick you up at 12 am at the hotel and drive to the Paltuding visitor centre on board an off-road vehicle. From here we'll embark on a hiking route that will take us to the craters and volcanoes of Ijen, one of the most spectacular natural sites in the eastern part of Java. 

Its landscapes stand out for the amazing terrain shaped by the so-called blue lava. In fact, did you know that this place is also known as the blue volcano of Indonesia? 

After seeing the indigo landscapes surrounding Ijen, and of course taking lots of pictures, we'll make our way on foot to Paltuding, where we'll take the jeep back to the hotel in Ketapang.

After breakfast at the lodge, we'll take a seven-hour drive to Bromo. During the drive, we'll stop for lunch. 

Day 3: Mount Bromo - Surabaya o Yogyakarta

On the third and final day, we'll meet early in the morning at the entrance of the hotel to get on an SUV and head to Penanjakan. From the top of this mountain we'll watch the sunrise over the Tengger caldera, the volcanic environment surrounding Mount Bromo.

At sunrise, this place is tinged with violet, orange and scarlet tones, creating a majestic natural spectacle. At sunrise, we'll also enjoy a peaceful horseback ride on Mount Bromo. 

The route will end at the foot of Penanjakan Mountain, where the jeep will be waiting to take us back to the hotel.

After replenishing your energy with breakfast at our accommodation, we'll take you to the station or to the airport, depending on the option you have chosen. There we'll end this 3-day tour of Mount Bromo and Ijen.

Accommodation

The tour includes 2 nights accommodation with breakfast at the following hotels: 

• Ketapang: Ketapang Indah Hotel or similar
• Mount Bromo: Lava View Lodge Hotel or similar

Endpoint

At the time of booking, you can choose where you want to end the tour:

• Surabaya airport: Once the tour ends, we'll take you to Surabaya airport. We recommend that you take your return flight from 2:30 pm onwards, or even later, to avoid missed connections in case of a mishap. 
• Hotel in Yogyakarta: In case you want to end the tour in Yogyakarta, we'll take you to the train station in Surabaya. There you'll take a train to Yogyakarta. Upon arrival at the destination, we'll meet you at the station to take you to the downtown hotel you have booked.
