Where to Stay

Check out the best areas to stay in Bali depending on what you want to get out of your trip and what type of atmosphere you're looking for.

Best Areas to Stay in Bali

If you like surfing and watersports in general, or if you want to enjoy Bali's nightlife, Kuta is the right area for you.

If what you want is to relax at a nice beach resort, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran are your two better options. The hotel zone of Nusa Dua is quite touristic and has a similar feel to the Caribbean, although the beach is not quite up to par. The Jimbaran area has both nice beaches and a good atmosphere, and there are as many locals as there are foreigners.

To enjoy Bali's nature and be closer to tourist attractions, a central town like Ubud is the best option.

And, lastly, if you want to be relatively close to Kuta and lodge in luxury hotels or private villasSeminyak is the best area for you.

The most typical thing to do is divide the stay in two parts, one half in the southern beach area (Kuta, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, or Seminyak) and the other half in the center of the island (Ubud). If you're not interested in going to the beaches, you can stay in Ubud during the whole stay.

Budget-Friendly Hotels
